What Causes Dark Colored Urination?

I m in the middle of a diverticulitis flare up and am taking the medications for it - Metronidazole and Ciprofloxacin. I ve taken these a few time now over the years (probably 3 flare ups in the past 6 years) with no side effects. But this time I m passing dark urine, which I ve never done before. Will this pass when I m off the medication?

Dear-thanks for using our service .Dark urine could be from different possibilities including very concentrated , microscopic hematuria and hyperbilirrubinemia or high bilirrubin. The last is from an obstruction of the drainage of the bile in the liver. If dark urine is due to bilirrubin ,you will have light stools. However, your complaints most likely is from an urinary tract infection, not because you are off the medication.
I hope my advise has been helpful
