What Causes Dark Brown Vaginal Discharge While On Tri-Sprintec?

I have been having a very dark brown discharge for three days now, and I m not supposed to get my period until next week. I have been taking the birth control pill Tri-Sprintec for two years now and I have gotten my period on the same day and week since I have started taking it. The discharge isn t red like blood its just a very dark brown color. I m concerned because I don t know what this could be and it hasn t gone away.

Dark brown vaginal disharge while on tri-sprintec could be caused by many medical conditions. Some possible causes may include:
-bacterial vaginosis
-PID (pelvic inflammatory disease)
-certain sexually transmitted diseases
-cervical cancer
-Other causes like Ovulation, Perimenopause, Birth control, Implantation bleeding may also have to be eliminated.
