What Causes Dark Blue Veins Behind The Knee?

I am 32 years old. Ran 1 time after many years and had vessels to burst and I can see also a dark blue vessel going behind my knee up my leg now. I want to lose weight/love to run. Going to a gym, swimming is not an option. Walking is too boring. Why do I see the blood vessel? Is it from running? Can I continue to run?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Respected user, hi I evaluated your query thoroughly.
*Dilated vein is due to transient hyperperfusion following excess running.
*Usually it fades away & non-specific clinically .
*If persist / painful / becomes more prominent day by day that means it`s
not related to running something else but noticed after running only , in
which case you have to consult a doctor for its evaluation.
*So , keep on running dear without worry.
Hope this clears your query.
