What Causes Cysts And Hives?

I (41) developed really frequent hives, some have been very large - 4 x 5 inches, and last 2-5 days. my allergy doctor says the hives are not allergies, might be dermatographica or other type of autoimmune disease and is running blood and other tests. over last 12 months - I also developed two types of cyst - one on face, one on knee, and last 6 months developed chronic hives. My dad (67) had two autoimmune disorders in the last 3 years (his kidneys nearly died, some kind of bulbous that affects the skin). There is no lupus, rhumatoid, or thyroid conditions in the family. Should I have told the doctor about the cysts? does this sound like specific autoimmune disease?

Hi.
As per your case of Chronic urticaria, it is most commonly associated with aut-immune diseases like thyroid dysfunction, diabetes mellitus, pernicious anemia.
1. Get a Complete blood count, Absolute eosinophil count, Serum IgE levels and blood sugar done.
2. Cysts are not related to urticaria. So dont worry.
3. Only possible treatment for cysts is excision, so if they are bothering you then get it done.
4. U may need a long course of anti-histaminics for hives.

Thanks.
