What Causes Cylindrical Eye Power In A Child?

my 4.5 years old daughter diagnosed with -2 cylindrical eye power in her both eyes... According to doctors, this is due to some shape within her eyes by birth.. We are totally confused about this. They suggested her to go for glasses immediately, otherwise it might worsen her eye vision. Please clarify this and also let us know how this can be cured....

Hi....Sometimes congenitally acquired shape of the eyeballs can cause this type of problem. Your doctors are perfectly right in suggesting her to start using glasses immediately. By using glasses though it might not be cured at least it won't worsen. I suggest you follow your doctor's advice. Regarding permanent cure I do not think any medicines can cure this. Using glasses continuously is the best option available as of now.
