What Causes Coughing Up Of Phlegm Along With Hoarse Voice?

Hello! Two days ago I started coughing phlegm, although cough is not persistent. Yesterday, I lost my voice. Started taking Mucinex Expectorant to loosen the phlegm. Today, still no voice and cough comes and goes, with phlegm. No fever. Should I be concerned and see my doctor?

Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
This could be due to upper respiratory tract infection. Vocal cord edema associated could be the cause for your voice problem. Nothing to worry, you get your voice back.
I recommend the following.
1) A course of antibiotics.
2) Analgesic like tablet paracetamol.
3) Oral decongestant like tablet levocetrizine with phenylephrine.
4) Plenty water to prevent dehydration.
5) Avoid smoking.
6) Voice rest.
You will be fine.
