What Causes Coughing And Choking Event In The Night?
i have a coughing and a choking event in the middle of the night that I have to wake up my husband because i fell like like I am dying. He has to tap hard my back to allow me to breathe. And I am losing sleep because of this and so is my husband whose sleep is disrupt by my coughing.
I am a healthy 56years old woman, workout regularly, and practice a healthy eating habits. I do not have this problem before which started a few weeks ago.
Please help and I appreciate your advice.

Your problem started a few weeks ago.
Coughing and choking in the middle of the night occur in patients who have sinus congestion. The sinus secretions slowly pent up in the nasopharynx and cause the problems you are facing.
Get a CT scan of the sinuses, give antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicines, nasal decongestants in the form of drops or spray.
This will settle with time and remember you have to take medicines for a long time, till this is cured
