What Causes Cough With Phlegm After A Gall Bladder Removal Surgery?
I had gallbladder removal surgery Thursday. While I was in the hospital on iv antibiotics, I did not have a cough. Now that I'm home, I have a cough that is bringing up some phlegm. I don't know if this is likely a result of the surgery, or an unfortunate coincidence. I did have a sinus infection treated a couple of weeks before the surgery and that seemed to have cleared up.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. It may be hospital pneumonia and you should do x-rays to rule it out. It can or may not be related to such surgical procedure but in every case it should be evaluated since antibiotics may be required for pneumonia to prevent serious consequences.
Hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Wish you a good health.
Regards, Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein
