General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello.
Thank you for contacting HCM.

I have read your question and I understand your concern.
The symptoms yu are experiencing are the side effects of mirena IUD.
The most common side effects are irregular bleeding, lower abdominal cramping, back pain, weight gain and nausea etc.

I would suggest you consult your local gynaecologist for a follow up on your IUD and if your symptoms still persist and are bothersome consult with the doctor for management of the side effects or replacement with some other contraceptive method.

Please contact your doctor immediately if you experience heavy bleeding, have fever and foul smelling discharge or have pain during sex.

I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again f you have any concerns.
Wishing you good health.
