hello, i am a 30 yr old female who has experienced post coital bleeding 3 times over the past couple months. I at first thought it was the condoms i was using because i am sensetive to lubricants and spermicides.. so i switched to non lubricated and didn't see any spotting until a week ago. My husband an i do have rough sex occaisonally and did when the spotting occured so it could be that. I made an appmt with my gyno, but i am really nervous because i searched online for an answer and the possibilites like cervical cancer petrified me! I get my pap every yr i have two children one 4 and one will be 2 in a couple months.. My last pap was in early nov. all normal.. should i be scared??
Your information is absolutely correct. It is a dictum that post coital bleeding cases should be investigated for cancer of the cervix. However, you have your Pap smear done just few weeks ago which was normal. So the possibility of cancer cervix could be minimal.
Sometimes other lesions of cervix like large erosion or polyp also may cause post coital bleeding. Vaginal speculum examination will clinch the diagnosis of these.
Your history of rough sex cannot be ignored. Please find out from a Gynaecologist by internal examination about any possibility of vaginal trauma. Such vaginal injury can cause post coital bleeding.
In short, clinical examination only sort out your problem. Please report to the Gynaecologist ASAP.
I hope this helps you today.
