What Causes Continuous Headache After Getting Hit On Head?

Hi I hit my head a week ago and I slept for 14 hours that night (which is not unusual) and I've been feeling more dizzy since then. I had a very long headache yesterday and there is a slight pain at the back of my head now... the only reason why I'm concerned is because when I hit my head a week ago, I head a crack. Is it something that I should be worried about or should I just take it easy at home?

Neurologist 's  Response
If you hit your head so hard that you "saw stars" or flashes of light, felt confused or disoriented for a moment or two, felt nauseous or queasy that or the next day then, you should be seen by a neurologist or at least a doctor for further examination and advice. Your headache may be part of what is referred to as a POSTCONCUSSIVE syndrome. Headaches from this type of blow to the head generally subside in several weeks to several months depending on the severity of the trauma. Please rate this a 5 STAR ENCOUNTER and write me at: www.bit.ly/drdariushsaghafi if you have further questions or comments.
