What Causes Constipation While On Antibiotics?

hi im taking an antibiotic for something and i wondering if it can cause constipation because the other explanation for me is that i have ileitis because i was in the er for pain in my lower right adoman and it was a viral ileitis meaning it wouldnt come back but im having the pain again and i dont want to go to the er looking like a hypochondriac

Hi welcome to health care magic...

Few drug can lead constipation but you have not mentioned drug name....
Acute intestinal infection sometime can lead constipation...
You can eat more fruits and drink more water.
Fiber foods like whole grain, wheat bean, apple and green leafy vegetables should be taken more...

As you pain is not relieved and it is reffered to hypochondrium also...
So investigation needed with USG abdomen for further work up....

If needed Liver sgpt and sgot can be done along with bilirubin estimation if yellow discolouration of urine, sclera and anorexia present.....
