What Causes Constipation When Diagnosed With Bleeding Duodenal Ulcers?

Had tarry stool on the 25th, went to the E.R. Bleeding duodinal ulcer was found on endoscopy on the 27th. It is now the night of the 30th and I have not pooped since the wierd stools on the 25th. Should I be alarmed? Five days seems long, especially after gastrointestinal issues.

Respected user , Hi

Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query thoroughly .

* 5 days constipation in this condition is not acceptable for better outcome

* Suggestions on priority basis

- Immediately consult your doctor ( you may require dulcolax suppositories
to be kept in rectum for primary relief ) .
- Once stool is passed , dietary modifications with bulk forming laxatives
would be best secondary line of management .

Hope this clears your query .
Welcome for further guidance .

Regards .
