What Causes Constipation In A Bottle Feeding Infant?

My 1.5 months old baby is bottle fed. Normally, she passes stool once every day. It s been more than 36 hours and she has not passed stool yet. We feel she is struggling to push and we are not sure what to do about it. She is accepting feed.\ Could you advise us on what needs to be done?

Constipation is a common problem encountered by parents in babies who are bottle fed and sometimes even in breast fed babies.

Even if your baby passes stools once in 5 days too its normal, but sometimes it causes discomfort to the baby.
No medication is required.
Gently stimulate the anus of your baby with your little finger. Mostly she will pass stools. If that does not work follow the next method.

If at all your panicing and you feel your baby feels discomfort what you can do is take a beetle leaf, put oil in the stalk and gently insert in the anus. It will not cause any harm to your baby.
