What Causes Constant Tiredness After Recovering From Fever?
My 10 year old son has a moderate fever 101-103 broken by ibuprofen. He has asthma but no active symptoms. No complaints of aches/pains just headaches(which he has history of). He has been sleeping much more than his normal. When I asked what is wrong he just says that he s so tired and just doesn t feel well. He has been like this since Saturday am. No signs of a cold or allergies. Any ideas?
Usually after certain illnesses the body takes time to recover from disease due to high metabolic rate.
During fever where the body protein usually after certain illnesses body proteins break down so this takes time to recover. Kindly keep the child well hydrated and given plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and encourage him to be a bit active. If you feel symptoms are getting worse and he is not functioning as for normal it is important to show him to the pediatrician for further management.
Thanking you.
Regards,
Dr. Aashish Raghu
