What Causes Constant Runny Nose?

I am a 64 year old female and I have a constant runny nose. My nose is not stuffed up but I have to keep tissue with me at all times because of the runny nose. I take high blood pressure medication and I have COPD. However, I don't think those would be reasons. The nose thing has been going on for several months.

Thanks for contacting healthcaremagic. Runny nose is a very common problem at any age. Most common reason is local allergy. This could be to any number of things including pollen, animals, perfumes, dust. They can happen at anytime in your life. Treatment would include antihistamines or nasal steroids.

Another cause is perennial allergies which is not caused by any allergies but just is over production of nasal mucous. Treatment would also include nasal steroids.
