What Causes Constant Pain And Tingling In The Left Arm?

I have pain in my left arm, constant ache, and it starts with a sharp pain in the upper arm and tingling goes down the arm. the muscle in the upper arm seems to have an indentation with a bulging just below it. I m not sure if I tore a muscle in there or could it be the rotator cuff ??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The tingling may indicate that there is nerve injury along with the muscle injury.
This nerve injury maybe temporary and due to the surrounding muscle injury.

It would be difficult to say without examination whether the pain is related to the muscle or it involves the rotator cuff.
It would be best to see your doctor for assessment which would include physical examination and imaging of the joint by xray or mri (if needed)

Treatment would depend on the findings

I hope this helps

General & Family Physician Dr. Nishikant Verma's  Response
Your symptoms points towards nerve damage. Nerve damage might be due to trauma, neuritis, diabetes, leprosy, renal failure, shingles, and vasculitis.
Advice
1.     Give rest to your arm for few day
2.     Methylcobalamin (tablet Methylcobal) 500 mcg once daily per oral for 3 months
3.     Dexamethasone 0.5 mg (tablet Dexona 0.5 mg) every 12 hours orally for 5days
4.     Amitriptyline 10 mg (tablet Tryptomer 10 mg) at bed time orally for 15 days
5.     Consult an orthopaedician for examination of your shoulder
6.     Investigation
a.     Blood sugar (F & PP)
Thanks
