What Causes Constant Headache After Taking Amoxicillin?

I have an infected tooth. I starting taking 500 mg of Amoxicillin on Tuesday. Prior to taking amoxicillin, I was having tooth pain and headaches. My teeth don't hurt anymore but I still have headaches. I thought by now the headaches would have stopped. I continue to have bad headaches during the day and especially at night. Is this a side effect or could I be allergic to Amoxicillin. I've never had problems in the past with Amoxicillian

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain headache is a common occurrence when you have infected tooth as pain in head is radiating pain from infected tooth..

As now pain in tooth is subsided but still there is a possibility that you are suffering from radiating pain oy while it can also be a side effect of medicines that you are taking while it can also be due to stress..

I would suggest you to consult a physician and get evaluated and if it is due to medicine side effects changing the medicines can help..

Secondly as you have not got your tooth treated, get it evaluated and either Root Canal Treatment or extraction of tooth can help..

You can as of now take Ibuprofen for pain relief..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
