Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 2 1/2 year old drools constantly and his tongue is always out of his mouth. This is a very new habit and we are worried what it might mean. The drooling is embarrassing, but does it indicate a larger problem. He has all his teeth. Please help.
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
By what you quote it seems like a habit to me - as it has started suddenly at this age. If its there form early infancy I would have thought about hypothyroidism. If you keep saying to stop, he will do it even more. So just avoid giving it recognition and he will stop doing it. It does not indicate a larger problem except that if he is snoring a lot it might indicate upper airway resistance syndrome winch is easily treatable.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
