What Causes Constant Cramps And Pain In Calves, Numb Wrist And Elevated BP?
I have constant cramping and pain in bilateral calves and numbness in my lot wrist hand (I thought may be just early signs of arthritis. Blood pressure in the evening been running 130/96. I am not on BP meds. I have been having some major heartburn but I have been Dx with GERD. I am a 49 year old white female. I have gained weight this past year more than normal so I am sure that does not help 175lb. Hx: thyroidectomy and hysterectomy. Blood pressure had been up for a couple of weeks but the leg pain started this week in addition to HBP.
It is possible that the cramping in the legs may be due to : (1) electrolyte disturbance- abnormal levels of sodium, calcium or potassium can cause cramping
(2) reduced blood supply to the area
(3)abnormal nerve supply
(4)side effect of medication
(5)liver or kidney disease These are some of the causes. Examination to assess the pulses in the legs. Blood tests to check electrolyte levels and to assess liver or kidney function may be needed.

The numbness in the wrists may be due to carpal tunnel syndrome so your doctor can assess this as well. I hope this helps
