What Causes Constant Choking Along With White Dot At The Back Of Throat?

Hi, I am feeling choking for a couple months and I see a white dot at the end of my throat. I am no comfortable at all and even could not swallow food. My family doctor told me I could do for a sonography. What is could be and what I should do? Thanks for your consideration.

Welcome to HCM,

Understanding your concern . As per your query you have white spot on the back of he throat . Well there can be many reasons for white spot on the back of the throat like oral thrush , tonsil stones ( tonsiloliths ) , oral herpes and tonsillitis . It seems to me that in your case the white spots on back of your throat is due to tonsil stones . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out causes mention above . Doctor may also order endoscopy along with taking sample for lab test . Usually treatment is not necessary, as the tonsils will clean themselves just do warm saline gargles and suck on lemon candy . If they are causing any discomfort then doctor may remove them with instrument . If condition doesn't get better then consult oral pathologist .
