What Causes Congestion And Mild Fever While On Vicodin Post Shoulder Surgery?

I have had cold like symptoms- congestion, a little achenes, low grade fever for 11 days. I don't get better, but don't get worse. I am just gettig more tired and weak. I have military doctors that are impossible to get in, and I'm not sick enough to go to the emergency room. I had shoulder surgery about 4 weeks ago, so I've been on Vicodin. Should I just wait this out? Is there anything I can do to get better faster? I took some ZICAm, and vitamin c supplements.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Cough and cold are treated symptomatically, this means that medication can be given to try and reduce the symptoms but there is no medication to make the illness itself go away.

You can use pain killers , antihistamines and decongestants to help with the symptoms.
The antihistamines, decongestants would be available over the counter.

I hope this helps
