What Causes Coldness And Paleness In Hands And Feet?
My father had a heart attack 6 months ago and had a stent fitted and appropriate drugs prescribed. He has recently caught off us a nasty flu bug which attacks the sinuses and the throut causing uncontrollable coughing, particularly bad at night. I am concerned because he is complaining about being really cold all the time and his hands and feet are freezing. His hands go white when he presses them together and the veins all go bright blue. Is this a flu symptom or could it be related to his heart? Thanks, Tara

If your father has also history of running nose and mild fever,then it could be because of viral infection.Which needs to be treated symptometicaly according to your doctor's suggestion.
Other cause can be side effect of some medicines,as you have not mentioned the name of medicines you can discuss with your doctor about the side effects of the medicines ,your father has been taking. For example calcium channel blocker drugs and captopril can cuase these effects. Other wise steam at home,cough syrup with dextromethorphen can be given at home to relieve the cough.Make sure if your father is getting any calcium channel blocker medicine,and get an ECG done to be sure of any change in heart beat.
