What Causes Cold Sweats Along With Hot Flashes And Fatigue?
My brother-in-law, age 57, is experiencing the following symptoms: cold sweats, hot flashes, fatigue, eats but cannot gain weight/is losing a little weight, experiences periods of crying. He recently had tests done on his thyroid because the dr found a small growth, but tests show his thyroid is fine and the growth, while still there, the dr said was nothing to worry about.

Based on the symptoms, I would like to rule out pituitary and testosterone hormone imbalances.
-does he have any other medical issues or take any medications?
-any changes in bowel habits and bowel movements?
-does he smoke or consume alcohol?
- any other symptoms like breathing difficulty, headaches, vision disturbances, chest discomfort?
I recommend :
- a physician consult
- blood tests to check pituitary, estrogen and testosterone hormone levels in addition to complete blood count, liver and kidney function tests, lipid profile
-biopsy of the thyroid growth.
- a CT scan of the brain may be required to check for pituitary tumor.
-if all is fine, depressive disorder may need to be ruled out.
