What Causes Cold Sore And Lump Under Chin?
Hello. In the last week, I have felt as if my ears were clogged, esp the right. I would get clicking in it. Days later, I developed a cold sore on my bottom lip. Today, I noticed a grape sized lump under my chin. It hurts to the touch and feels like a pulled muscle when I move my neck. Please advise if this sounds like an infection and I need to be on antibiotics.

It is just nothing to worry, this is not the infection for sure, the swelling which you have noticed could be the lymph node that must have been came in to your notice just now otherwise this must be there even before you noticed it, most probably this could be muscular pain that is some time happening due to uneven movement of head I would advise you to have following medicine.
1) Ibuprofen 200 mg three times in day
2) Acetaminophen 1 tab three times in day 500 mg
3) Leocetrizine 10 mg once in day
You will definitely get the good result and just take it easy have nice day.

There might be beginning of infection in the ear and there is an enlargement of lymph node under chin due to infective drainage in it.
You have to start proper antibiotic like amoxy/clavulinic to subside the infection and nsaid to subside the swelling,pain.
It is better to consult your family physician for proper diagnosis and medications.
