What Causes Cloudy Urine With A Strange Odour?

I went to visit my doctor for what I thought was a UTI . My boyfriend was ahead of me to get checked for his COPD. He was given azthromycin for an infection in his lungs. I went in after him and told the nurse I had cloudy urine and she said I bet with an odor. Gee how did she know I thought? He said he had told the doctor I was coming in to get checked for a UTI. What was it his business talking about me and why?Do you think he actually has chylamida? And they just said he had a lung infection? I need to know my next Dr appt isn t till Monday please help me

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

If I was your treating physician I would have prescribed you prophylactically with Azithromycin for genitourinary infection. Plus take plenty of water and cranberry juice.

Anything ranging from a true UTI to STD may be there. I can't say that you are just over apprehensive. Yes anything is possible as to look why he told all that to the nurse. It was not supposed to be like that. But as far as your urine odor query is concerned, No. it is not a coincident. Even if this was not you, the Nurse must have asked the same question.I also ask the same if someone is with such a disease because the disease naturally goes like this. Your boyfriend has no link in this issue regarding urine odor query by the nurse, at least.

I preferably suggest you and also your boyfriend to get yourself checked for a possible STD from the primary care physician (if your boyfriend agrees to, otherwise at least make yourself safe). Your physician will test you for HIV/Chlamydia/Pap smear.

Hope I answered all of your questions. In future, if you need further, detailed and quick assistance on any health issue, feel free to ask me a question by writing my name as a reference in the start of your question. I will get back to you right away. Have a wonderful time ahead.

Regards!
