What Causes Clotty Vaginal Discharge After Abdominal Pain?

hi! i am a 31 y/o married female with no child, no history of pregnancy or miscarriage. I had menstruation the other day and earlier a solid fat-like discharge came out after severe bout of abdominal pain. Pain was relieved after discharge came out. What is this? Is it something to be worried about? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I share your concern
Pain in abdomen with thick vaginal discharge might be related to infection like PID or endometritis.

If I were your doctor I would have advised you for a battery of tests like blood profile CBC liver and kidney function test and urine culture and sensitivity tests as well as vaginal swab culture or an ultrasound if need be.

You may require a course of antibiotics either oral tablets or vaginal pessaries under supervision of your doctor

Have plenty of fluids
maintain good hygiene
Use condoms or avoid sex until you recover fully.
Thanks for your question
Best regards
