What Causes Clear Jelly Discharge From The Anus?

I am a home health RN who is working with a recent paraplegic. Last night and this morning while doing the normal digital stimulation bowel program with suppository the only return I am getting is a clear like jelly substance, no BM. What does this indicate is going on? What is my next course of action?

Hello,
1) presence of clear mucus without bowel movement + use of suppositories for bowel movement + paraplegic, bed ridden patient, all indicate chronic constipation
2) chronic constipation develop in such condition due to hypomotility of intestines secondary to prolong bed-ridden condition.
3) It require use of proctoclyses enema to soften the collected hard stool and even sometimes it need digital removal of hard stool pallets with subsequent use of enema
