What Causes Clear Fleshy Bowels After Kidney Stone Extraction And Stent Replacement?

Hi i recently had a kidney stone extraction and stent placement. I had two rounds of antibiotic. Was presented to the Er and placed on generic omnicef. I had terrible abdominal side effects and increased pain to my kidney pain. I was taken off it after 4 doses. The culture was negative. Two weeks out i have strange bowel movements. Clear and flesh colored mucus and now recently freaked me out! What looks like a 3 inch dull red vein in soft stool. Help

A small amount of mucus in the stool is usually normal and nothing to worry about. If you continue to have increasing amount of mucus in your stool you may want to go back to the ER or to your primary care doctor and get repeat stool studies with C diff. Large amount of mucus in stool is usually a sign of inflammation or infection. Since you have been on anabiotic's, you are at risk for c diff infection. C diff is an infection of the colon that is frequently associated with anabiotic use. Severity of the infection can range from diarrhea to diffuse inflammation, preparation, and worsening complications. I would recommend starting a probiotic. If it continues I would go back and get repeat stool studies.
