What Causes Chronic Sore Throat Which Leads To Choking Of Food?

I have felt like there is something in my throat for alittle over 2 weeks now. It usually gets worse when I try to eat or drink anything. I went to the doctor about it and all they said is that I have a Viral sore throat. A week after that I started getting pains in my stomach and pains in my back. Sometimes it is burning back pains. My throat annoys me to death. I can t eat the normal stuff I eat without feeling like I am going to choke on my food. Does anyone know what exactly is happening? And should I be worried?

Hi.This feeling of globus pharyngis may be due to an enlarged lymphoid tissue or a mass or a swelling from the cervical spine protruding in the Pharynx. The cause can be confirmed by an ENT endoscopy and CT scan for the pharynx and the cervical spine. The treatment will be according to the findings on clinical examination by endoscopy .
