I have had a lingering productive cough with white/yellow sputum. I have been seen by my PMD, had a chest X-ray and have been affected by allergy Sx this year. I drink plenty of water, spit out sputum and blow nose instead of sniffling. My PMD has not decided to prescribe anything for an upper respiratory cause(s) based on lung sounds and X-ray studies. I have had my annual flu vaccination, and pneumonia. Cough is worse when lying down and have been taking lasix as needed if I have lower extremity swelling is present, I do have a history of HTN, CAD (w/ CABG x3), pacemaker placed to offset slow heart rate with my lopressor. I have a scheduled appointment w/ my PMD and Cardiologist the first week in December. We have had a mild winter last year and a severe allergy season this year in the South Carolina, any thoughts as to potential cause(s) for the prolonged productive cough that does not provide abnormal X-ray or absence of diminished breath sounds? Thanks in advance for your time and consideration !
