I ve been having aches throughout my vagina to sharp chronic pains in my pelvic area that strikes through my body periodically. I ve been tested for std s and was negative. There is also a lump on near my ovary it hurts if I press on it sometimes. Could it be a cyst?

Hi,

I am sorry for the chronic pain problems you are having.

1. You are saying that you have a lump on near your ovary. I need to know whether it is superficial or deep inside.

If superficial, the lump might be possible lipoma.
If deeper inside, then, further investigations are needed to determine its nature:
- echo of the lump
- abdominal ultrasound

Depending on the results, we can say if it is an ovary cyst or other pathology.

3. Another possible explanation for your pelvic pain is related to lower back problems. For this, if you do not intend to get pregnant, I advise to run X-ray of spinal cord (lower back) for further evaluations.

For the moment, I advise to:
- avoid hard sex
- keep good local hygiene
- take indometacine to relieve the pain

Hope it was of help!
