What Causes Chronic Headache?

My husband is seeing a doctor for chronic head aches. 1st he was told to abstain from caffeine (he d been ingesting 1000 mg daily). His blood work showed low hemoglobin. But his iron was too high. The headaches have moved from the front of his head to the front and back now, even though he s been caffeine free for 2 weeks or more. He ll see a neurologist in 3 weeks. He s afraid he has a brain tumor. Do you think so?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Possibility of withdrawal headache from caffeine is more.
But better to rule out internal brain related causes for his severe headache.
So get done CT brain first. If CT scan is normal then no need to worry for brain diseases like brain tumor.
His headache is due to stopping of caffeine.
So give him painkiller and mild sedative drugs after consulting psychiatrist to calm his withdrawal.
Don't worry, his headache will subside in 1-2 weeks.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your husband. Thanks.
