Hi, I have been having this chronic cough trying to clear the clear thick mucus in my throat. I ve been suffering for so many years and seems to be getting worse. I know I i don t have post nasal drip. Please tell me what might be my problem and is there any cure. Thank you
Understanding your concern. As per your query cough with thick mucus in throat is because of respiratory tract infection/ bronchitis. I would sugest you to do warm saline gargles with saline water. Avoid hot , sharp and spicy food substances. You should take combination of anti-histamine and antibiotics. You should take steam inhalation as well. Visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. Get X-ray chest done and blood and sputum tests done. You should start treatment once proper diagnosis is made. You should go for pulmonary function tests as well to known the exact extent of disease and treatment can be started accordingly. Take inhaled bronchodilators as well to prevent any type of congestion. avoid cold carbonated beverages.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
