What Causes Choking While Eating?

About 3 years ago I swallowed a candy whole and it really messed up my throat and after that at first I couldn t eat a lot of foods because they wouldn t go down but over the past 3 years I have been able to eat just about anything but their are still certain foods because it feels like I m choking when I m eating it. Why is that

It is possible that there was trauma to the throat when this occurred.

In most cases, the area would heal over normally unless the trauma is severe. In severe trauma there may be some scarring that can affect swallowing.

This may the case for you but this would have to confirmed by endoscopy.

This involves taking a look down the esophagus to look for any problems.

This procedure is done by a gastroenterologist.
