What Causes Chest Tightness With Development Of Phlegm In Throat?

I just returned to the office from a quiet lunch. On the short car ride back, phlegm in my throat began to develop-like a frog in your throat you can t cough up. Also, my chest feels tight and taking a deep breath is difficult. Is this an allergic reaction? I was in the garden on my lunch break fixing my sprinklers. Thanks.

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

You have bronchitis like respiratory infection...
It could be viral or allergic reaction....
You have congestive symptoms ....so decongestent like antihistaminic taken....

Steam inhalation and drinking more water help in phlegm breakdown and easy expulsion....
Hot water best if taken...
If secondary bacterial infection suspected by thick yellow phlegm then antibiotic like levoflox given...
You can add eucalyptus oil 2 drop while taking steam inhalation...
Take glass of leukwarm water and add few drop of apple cider vinegar with honey that is good herb to taken...

Auscultation done....if bronchi constriction
Present bronchodilator given and asthma ruled out by spirometry...

Take care...

Don't worry....
