What Causes Chest Pain?
Hello, I went to the ER with chest pain because I was worried I underwent two EKGs and three enzyme draws, on the second enzyme draw my troponin level was 0.032, on the third it went back down to 0.029 and I was released, he said I was cleared and I scheduled a stress test through the VA, but they scheduled it for Sept 4th, is it possible it may not be heart disease, how worried should I be

You seem to have elevated troponin levels.The reference value is <0.01ng/ml.This signifies cardiac muscle injury and myocardial infarct.This could be a mild elevation but none the less significant.Drugs like aspirin and statins can help to prevent the spread of the damaged myocardium,i advice you to have repeat ecg and a 2 dimensional echo to assess any regional wall motion abnormalities.Consider having coronary angiography.Consult your doctor for further help.Thank you
