What Causes Chest Pain When On Cymbalta And Cancer Medication?

Hi. I've been experiencing chest pain for about 31/2 weeks now. It's on the left side near my left breast. I've been battling breast cancer since January 2010. It was in my left breast. I can't tell if pain is in b
reast or around the left lung/heart. I started taking Cymbalta about 31/2 weeks ago for joint pain/arthritis related to Femara, my daily cancer medicine-an anti-estrogen-right around the time chest pain began. I'm suspecting the Cymbalta at this point. Your thoughts?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you are having drug induced gastritis and related pain.
But better to rule out cardiac cause first for left sided chest pain.
So get done ecg and 2d echo.
If both are normal then no need to worry for cardiac cause.
Cymbalta is pain killer and given for pain due to arthritis.
And pain killers are known to cause drug induced gastritis.
So start proton pump inhibitors before painkiller drug. Avoid stress and tension.
Avoid hot and spicy food.
Drink plenty of fluids orally.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
