What Causes Chest Pain Between The Breasts?

I went to the emergency room yesterday with pain in chest between my breast and they ran 2 ekg and ecogram? stress test. Sent me home saying it wasn t my heart. My blood pressure was 200/164 when I left it was 137/92 (which is high for me) my BP is usually around 117/75 I m going to start walking 30 minutes a day and eating healthier. No skipping meals. I stopped drinking caffine 2 or 3 years ago. I only sleep 3-5 hours a night. I am 54 menopausal and drive a school bus and own my business selling Mary Kay (which is usually relaxing) but I owe $10,000.00 in Credit card debt right now due to our plumbing company. I saw my heart and it looks good. Valve opening and closing good. and the heart itself beating good. My Dr. is great I really like her. My question wasn t answered yesterday. It wasn t a heart attack it was probably acid in my stomach?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Since your extensive cardiac work up is normal, no need to worry for cardiac disease.
In my opinion, you are mostly having stress induced GERD.
It is due to laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter.
Because of this the acid of the stomach tends to come up in the esophagus and cause the symptoms of Central burning chest pain.
So follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid stress and tension.
2. Avoid hot and spicy food.
3. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
4. Start proton pump inhibitors.
5. Go for walk after meals.
6. Keep 2-3 pillows under head in the bed to prevent reflux disease.
7. Avoid smoking, alcohol or caffeine if you have these habits.
8. Loose weight, if you are obese.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
