What Causes Chest Pain And Numbness In Hands And Feet?

I have been having some chest pain for about 2 weeks right in the middle of my chest (between my breast) and went to the doctor and I got referred to a cardiologist. Anyways, for the past 3 or 4 days I have been getting numbness in my hands and feet. It started in my right hand then right foot now I get the numbness in both hands and feet. Could this be related to my chest pain? Any suggestions of what it could be or what I should do?I am a 21 year old female, 5'8 and 200 pounds. I also have been diagnosed with POTS (Postural orthostatic hypotension syndrome) Im not sure if could be related or not. Thanks for any help.

There are various possibilities for the etiology behind your complaints, and formal testing would of course need to be done with a practiced PCP, and or Cardiologist. Possible explanations include nerve compromise via Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, with potential refereed pain seeming to be cardiac in nature but in reality, Thoracic in etiology. Another explanation is Subclavian Steal Syndrome and or isolated chest pain (various reasons - for your demographic likely costocondritis or muscle strain) superimposed by limb and extremity numbness and tingling secondary to a variety of causes from nutritional to physical spine abnormalities. I suggest allowing a full workup by PCP with explanation of these here issues described.
