i have been awakening in the middle of the night with chest pains, and numbness in my right arm... it feels like i am having a panic attack or something, but also like a heart attack. it becomes difficult to relax until i get up and walk aroudn a bit, eventually it goes away... is this just stress?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, possibility of stress and anxiety related panic attack is more. But better to first rule cardiac cause for this. So get done ecg and 2d echo. If both these are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases. Consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution. You may need anxiolytic drugs too. Don't worry, you will be alright. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
