What Causes Cheeks To Swell?

What can cause someone's cheek to swell with no injury, insect bites, etc. Only one cheek is swollen. No extreme pain, just a little tenderness. Put ice on it for about 20 minutes and it did go down some but still a little swollen. BP is about 148/90 which has been normal for me per my physician. I was doing some weight lifting today....could this be a factor?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per the symptoms it looks like allergic reaction..
As soon as you come in contact with the allergen the swelling spreads but the reaction appears milder and starts getting reduced soon..
The causes can be any foods or medications, any skin cosmetics, environmental irritants etc..
So my suggestion is to consult an Emergency room and get evaluated when the swelling occurs and get an allergic test done..
You can also try taking anti allergics like benadryl to reduce swelling..
Continue doing cool compresses..
Once the allergen is ruled out try avoiding exposure to it..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
