What Causes Cellulitis In Leg?

My brother has no insurance and was recently diagnosed with cellulitis on his lower leg. He had a scan to rule out blood clot which fortunately was negative. He has taken his full dose of antibiotics and the swelling has been significantly reduced. The skin on his leg is still red (albeit less red) and purple. He is concerned that this discoloration will not go away. Please advise.

HI
Well come to HCM
If would be treating doctor of this case then I would first try to find out the underlying cause of cellulitis, in most of the cases some focus is there, due to insect bite or infective boil, second most important investigation is Blood sugar test, better get it done, ask him to keep the leg in elevated position, along with the antibiotic I would add chymotrypsin with the right treatment this comes around soon, take care.
I find this answer helpful
