What Causes Burning Sensation In The Vagina?

Yesterday I had slight vaginal burning but I figured it was just irritated because I went to the beach. This morning I had heavy discharge, but it seemed normal in consistency and color. I normally wouldn't worry, but I had a yeast infection in May and do not want to experience that again. Could these be early signs of a yeast infection?

Hello
Welcome to health care magic.

Discharge from vagina around ovulation day is normal. But if it lasts for more than 2-3 days and is associated with Burning sensation in vagina ,it can be a sign of vaginal candidiasis or urinary tract infection.

If I were your treating doctor,I would recommend,
-Vaginal clotrimazole tab suppository for 3-5 days.
-Wear cotton made and loose undergarment.Use soap and water for genital cleaning .Donot use any commmercial products from market.
-If you have sexual partner, see to it to get him treated as well if he has any genital related symptoms.
-Maintain adequate intake of water.Minimum 8-10 glasses of water per day.

If symptoms persists beyond 3 days of all these measures, visit gynaecologist for pelvic examination, vaginal swab smear and urinanalysis.Accordingly further management can be done .

Hope I answered your query.
Feel free to ask any more if you have.
