Hi! I ve been feeling a little burning sensation in my esophagus when eating and drinking. Its kind of like if I were ingesting food with grinded pepper. I can feel it reaching the back of my tongue. Been like this for the past 4 days. Any idea what this can be?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your esophagitis.

As per your history and symptoms, it seems to me that you are suffering with gastro esophageal reflux disease. It is a condition in which gastric acid regurgitate into esophagus.

You need to follow the following steps to avoid it.
Avoid oily, spicy, junk foods.
Avoid late night meals and drinks.
Don't sleep immediately after having your meals.
Raise the head side of the bed upto five inches.

Take medication like pantoprazole 40 mg empty stomach early in morning for two weeks.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further questions.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
