i was diagnosed with thalassemia when i was 16, i quit seing my doctor since i don't feel anything wrong with me, im now 18 and im having some sort of skin problems, but its not itchy not at all, if i go out and the sun touches me it hurts, feels like burning same thing when i take a bath using hot/warm water. is it possible that it might be internal? connected to my blood problems?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Thalassemia does not cause sun burns.
However, multiple blood transfusions in thalassemia can lead to deposition of iron in skin.
The iron deposition can lead to brownish or bronze colored discoloration of the skin.
The burning sensation could be due to sun burns.
On the other hand you could be suffering from sunburns unrelated to thalassemia.
Avoid exposure to sunlight, use sunscreens to prevent burning sensation.

Thanks and take care
