What Causes Burning Sensation During Urination With Foul Smell And Red Particles In Urine?

Hi, I am a 19 year old female, i have had recurrent urine infections for several years. I have had a urethral dilatation a month ago. For the past week I have had very bad burning sensations when i urinate, my urune is foul smell and very dark in colour. Also for the first time I have been seeing big 2-5 cm particles which are red in colour. I have been prescribed antibiotics to treat an infection but the sumptoms have not reduced and i am still seeing these particles which are giving me great concern. What could be the problem?

Thank you for the query.

Your symptoms indicate another urinary tract infection. The large particles you have spot in the urine are most likely a part of hematoma which could appear due to recent dilation you have had. Such hematoma usually accumulates in the urinary bladder. And it can be a source of infection.
I suggest you to visit your urologist and have it checked. Abdominal ultrasound and urine analysis should be done.
You should also increase mineral water intake to flush out this particles. Start cranberries supplementation.
