Hello Jackie!

My name is Dr. Aida and I am glad to attend you on Healthcaremagic!

Your symptoms could be related to a muscle pain (probably a stretched muscle) or a pinched nerve (a cervical disc herniation can not be excluded either).
Have you performed any straining physical activity lately?
Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with your GP for a physical exam and some tests:
- a cervical column X ray study
- a nerve conduction study
- a shoulder X ray study for possible bursitis or joint inflammation
- complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate for inflammation.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Best wishes!
