What Causes Burning Neck Pain Radiating Down The Shoulder And Elbow Joint?
HI! I HAVE BEEN HAVING BURNING-LIKE PAIN FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF MY NECK DOWN MY SHOULDER TO MY ELBOW JOINT. ESCRUCIATING AND RELENTLESS PAIN SINCE APRIL AND INTENSIFIED IN MAY TO DATE. I HAVE BEEN SEEING A PAIN MD, SAW AN RHEUMATOLOGIST AND LATER SAID SHE COULD NOT HELP ME AND THAT I SHOULD SEE THE PAIN DOC. I HAVE VISITED THE ED ABOUT 4X SINCE MID MAY AND I HAVE YET TO EXPERIENCE A DAY OF TOTAL PAIN FREE. LOST QUITE SOME DAYS FROM WORK. JUST BEEN GRANTED INTERMITTENT FMLA. I NEED HELP DESPERATELY.
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your neck and arm pain.
As per your history the pain is in neck and radiates to the arm. The pain seems to skeletal in nature either associated with the nerve compression or muscle spasm.
For the above too reasons you need to consult an orthopedic surgeon or spine expert instead of pain management. Because the reason seems to me cervical spondylitis rather than regular pain.
Get a CT of your neck done and visit an orthodontic spine surgeon for further evaluation. During mean time you can take Gabapentine medication if you don't have any problems associated with it.
Hope my answer will help you. Regards Dr Muzaffar Hussain Parray.
