What Causes Burning In Chest And Stomach?

I'm having burning in my chest and stomach like I've swollowed a hot coal and a sharp knife is sticking in me. This wakes me up at night. It happens whenever I eat or drink anything...even water. My chest feels heavy and it's hard to breath. I can feel my heart beating hard.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi,
It is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
The symptoms you are telling are typical of gastritis(acidity). Still you should do a ECG & 2D Echo to rule out cardiac causes.
For gastritis i recommend for tab Pantoprazole 40mg twice before breakfast & dinner. You should also do a ultrasound of abdomen which will help in diagnosing the same.
If you have any further query you can contact me.
Wishing you a good health.
Regards
Dr Sameer Maheshwari
